Content progression

The game is progressed through certain events. We will take inspiration from Valheim here, where progression and content is very explicit.

Valheim: You see runes at a specific location on the map where you summon certain bosses, and to summon them you need certain items. The goal turns into gathering those items, and preparing yourself, for the summoning of the boss. Once beat, a new area opens up and you can continue to do the same for the next boss. When all bosses have been killed you've finished the game.

We want something like this where progression and content is explicit, and thus points the player into some kind of direction. One way to progress could be through certain events.
